Submissions

Thanks for considering Bull City Press for your manuscript.

At this time, we do not consider unsolicited manuscripts outside of our three reading periods.

Each year, we team with The Frost Place in Franconia, NH, to offer the Frost Place Chapbook Fellowship.  Get information on the Frost Place Chapbook Competition, which is open to entries each October 1-January 5.

From March 15 – April 15, we accept submissions of short collections of poems, short fiction, and short memoir for Inch.  Take a look at the guidelines.

From May 15 – June 15, we hold a Chapbook Open Reading Period.  This reading period is open to poetry, nonfiction, and fiction.

All submissions must go through our electronic submissions managers. Any materials sent via US mail will be destroyed unread, and Bull City Press will not respond.

Because we are an all-volunteer operation, reading times for submissions vary based on the number of manuscripts each volunteer can carefully read while still attending to their day-to-day responsibilities. Often a minimum of 90 days will pass before we’ve assembled a long list of potential manuscripts to consider.
